At Rocket Caravans New Zealand we are proudly the exclusive NZ distributor for the United Kingdom manfacturer. With our bespoke customised caravans we import the caravan shells from the United Kingdom, and using the best of New Zealand materials and our engineering expertise we can deliver you modern functionality combined, with the sophisticated style of timeless classic vintage design.
This classic vintage heritage derives from the classic American travel trailers of the 1930’s. Rocket UK traces its origins to 2007 when the founder Peter Carrick, who started out originally importing vintage aluminium trailers from USA to meet the growing demand for commercial, catering, or marketing purposes. After battling with the variability of fifty year old restoration projects, and the underlying requirement to produce the highest quality product, Peter built a prototype caravan using the iconic American styling, but utilising modern underpinnings and technology. This includes the trailers comprising a TIG welded aluminium space-frame, which is lightweight but also strong. The body is then skinned, and painted if required, then water tested intensively to ensure that there are no leaks. There are no bonded joints on a Rocket which is the Achilles heel of most caravans of modern construction. This ensures that the new caravans meet the stringent European certification, type approval and compliance requirements. The caravans are insulated using natural wool, with the final individualised fitout to the customer specification. Since 2010 Rocket Caravans UK has and eviable track record of sucessfully exported globally being used both commercially, and as the ultimate lifestyle tourer. Our Rocket caravans stand out from the crowd, always attracting positive attention.
